Georgia Bartram Trail
The Georgia Bartram Trail stretches 38 miles from Russell Bridge on Hwy 28 to the GA-NC border just north of Hale Ridge Road. There are some very popular day hike locations here. For example, the Chattooga River section at the beginning of the trail is popular. Earl's Ford has road near Dicks Creek Falls is also popular with day hikers and car campers. Martins Creek Falls just passed Warwoman Dell is also very popular. Finally, Rabun Bald also is fairly popular with day hikers and is the second highest mountain in Georgia. However, the remainder of the trail can be described as secluded.
The Georgia Bartram Trail begins at Georgia Hwy 28 just after Russell Bridge. There is a medium sized parking lot near the trailhead right off GA Hwy 28. There is also a medium sized parking lot at Warwoman Dell which more or less bisects the GA Bartram Trail in half. Therefore, the Georgia Bartram Trail is generally divided into two subsections: (1) GA SR 28 to Warwoman Dell (18.8 miles); and Warwoman Dell to GA-NC border (18.2 miles). There is very, very small and remote parking lot at the GA-NC border via Hale Ridge Road. Therefore, I would recommend extending the hike 3.6 miles to Reach Osage Mountain Overlook on NC Hwy 106, which has a medium sized parking lot and is off a main highway.
I did the Georgia Bartram Trail in three sections shown below.
