Upcoming Hikes
I keep learning about new hikes. I recently watched a video of the John Muir Trail - The Range of Light. It was simply stunning. I hope that one day I can hike that amazing trail.
Despite this never ending battle of learning new hikes and always having the feeling of never being able to catch up, I have planned several hikes for 2015. This list will obviously change and grow with the times but, currently, these are my planned hikes. If you would like to join for any of these hikes, please let me know.

Multiple Night Hikes
For 2015, I have several multiple night hikes planned. I doubt I will be able to get to all of them. These hikes in general require 3-4 nights, 4-5 days of hiking to complete. I like will only do two, maybe three, of these hikes in 2015. I rarely get time off. The planned multiple night hikes include:
- AT - Great Smoky Mountain Portion | 72+ miles without side trails | 4 night / 5 day hike [Completed May 22-25, 2015]
- AT - Hot Springs to Erwin, TN | 67.6 miles without side trails | 3 night / 4 day hike [Planned]
- Duncan Ridge Trail Loop | The "hardest" hike in GA | 76.2 miles | 4 night / 5 day
Overnight Hikes
This list is the most subject to change. Unlike multiple night hikes, I have endless weekends to do these hikes. Weekend hikes usually involved 1 night / 2 day hikes. They may involve a 2 night / 3 day hike, but they are essentially weekend hikes.
- AT - Standing Bear Hostel to Hot Springs, NC | 33.1 miles | 1 night / 2 day hike
- AT - Erwin, TN to Carvers Gap, TN 143 | 36 miles | 1-2 night / 3 day hike
- Bartram Trail - Warwoman Dell to Osage Mountain Overlook | 21.8 miles | 1 night / 2 day hike [Completed April 11-12, 2015 & June 13-14, 2015]
- Bartram Trail - Wallace Branch to Appletree Campground | 23.7 miles | 1 night / 2 day hike
- Bartram Trail - Appletree Campground to Cheoah Bald | 22.6 miles | 1 night / 2 day hike
- Benton MacKaye Trail - Springer Mountain to GA Hwy 60 at Wilscot Gap | 30 miles | 1 night / 2 day hike [Completed, March 28-29, 2015]
- Benton MacKaye Trail - Appalachian Highway to Dally Gap | 25.8 miles [Completed June 20-21, 2015]
Day Hikes
Day hikes can vary from short 3-4 mile hikes to long all day affairs involving 20+ miles. I have recently been so focused on the long distance trails that I lost sight of day hikes. I hope this year I will do more day hikes. This section needs the most research as I have forgotten most of the day hikes I wanted to do with my obsession with the AT and other long distance hikes.
